Bruce Bennett

Bruce had his 1st lesson here at Aurora Aviation in 1975 while working during high school summer vacation as “line-service”. After three years in Army Aviation as an Aircraft Electrician he returned here as a Student in 1979 while working Aircraft Maintenance at PDX. Continuing his flight training, he returned here full-time in 1981; back on the “line”, then to Flight instruct, then in Sales as a Cessna dealer, on to charter flying, moving into management and taking charge of the operation in 1986.

Certified as an ATP for Airplanes, he has an instructor rating for Singe Engine Land & Sea, Multi-Engine and instrument with Type ratings in the Falcon 10, Beech Jet, Premier Jet, and Hawker. He has acted as Aurora’s Chief Pilot, Chief Flight Instructor, Premier Jet Instructor, and FAA designated company check Airman. His Current position is Director of Operations.

Although 10,840 flight hours is not that many compared to many career pilots; having over 99.5% of that exclusively off the Aurora Airport may be a record! Most of his time is in multi-engines with 3220 hours in Turbine Engines and 3760 hours as an instructor. His flying has been primarily in the Northwest US but has flown all over the country with dozens of trips to Mexico, more to Canada and as far away as the Bahamas and London.

When not here; He is with his Wife Leann (who he met here, she is a pilot as well as realtor) and Kids, Taylor 11, Erik 14 and Emelia 16. They travel as much as possible and they keep him very busy at home.
